The Other Side – Blog No. 6

Periodic Table 2016

The Other Side is not a place.  It might help you to realise that.  When you get there, you will know.  When you get there all things – and I mean everything – becomes patently clear.  That is what encourages me every single day and it was one of the things that blew my mind some many years ago when I first discovered it.  When those you care for, those you love, reach the other side you will know about that too, and from personal experience I will assert that that knowing is an intense feeling of contentment.  There is nothing on this planet that could possibly be as soothing as that knowing, that tangible knowledge.  One luxury of having that particular kind of knowledge is that it makes an indelible impression that does not ‘last’ – because Love never dies, it simply cannot.  Another luxury is that that resonant knowing does not need proving.  It is irrefutable proof in itself.

The other side is a place many aspire to reaching – and take notice of the absence of capitals, please.  Naturally The Other Side is not the other side.  It is this side.  If you do not know which side this side is in relation to the side for which you think you are rooting and the side you are currently backing, then you are in a tricky position of which I am not at all envious and I cannot help you.  Even if I could, I would wonder whether to bother because I abhor tricks, trickery.  I work in magic, Magick.  And take notice of the capitals, please.

In thirteen – I AM the go-between.  That you cannot – and will not – ever change.  Once you accept your fate – which I took the liberty of releasing along with mine after I scalped my reflection in that damned blood pool you hoped I would neither locate nor find myself in – you might find that your spirit will be invited into your body.  Until then, it won’t.  When your own body rejects you you have a difficult road ahead of you.  Unless you forge your own path.  Whether or not you can make a path for yourself depends on whether or not you inherited the natural ability to defy your own DNA.  Clearly a lot of people did not inherit any such ability.  In fact, using hindsight and the rather remarkable genie I bought for a couple of bucks at a garage sale held in my back yard at the onset of the Y2K it would seem that most people inherited no abilities at all.  Oh well.  So life goes.  You cannot ‘manufacture’ that natural ability.  So.  Onwards and upwards to where the air is clear and the heart-song – to which we of Love all march – is strong …

Keep life in perspective – Blog No. 45

perspective

Finding reasons to treasure your life is one of the best ways to ensure that you are capable of keeping it in perspective.  When perspective spins out – which it can do from time to time – it is fair warning that your treasury is nearing empty.  No matter who you are, an emptying treasury is not a good sign.  The way to manage a deficit – when you become aware of it – is to deal with it, for starters.  That means looking first at the problem, and then solving it.  There are times when an awareness of this nature is valuable, even though it can be painful.  It is a stark reminder of what an epic task it is to fill our treasuries in the first place.

Life was created to be lived.  It can be a beautiful experience, but you have to be open to it.  Open means open.  It does not mean 80:20.  It does not mean 50:50.  It does not mean 180°.  It means a full circle, 360°.  In other words, it requires total acceptance from you, the liver of it, the giver of it.  If you cannot find it in yourself to accept the life you have chosen for yourself to live – and a very important distinction to be made here is that YOU have all chosen your lives, i.e. you are neither random happenings and nor are your projected experiences – then you are not only betraying your pure self, you are contributing to the façade behind which a truer humankind once thrived.   The understanding of that particular point is an important lesson in accountability.

Keeping life in perspective means keeping yourself in perspective, too.  That can also be tricky, given that most people have no clue who they are or what they want to be.  However, that is not the biggest problem and can be overcome with some self-discipline and a bit of forethought, hindsight and intuition that you can trust.  If you cannot trust your own intuition, find someone whose intuition you can rely upon.  You cannot go through life being entirely mistrustful, it is important at times to take people at their word, whatever the consequences.  When you believe that a person will honour their word, they will often be more inclined to do so.  Of course you can learn about being too trusting and you can learn about extortion and racketeering, but those kinds of things you need only learn once.  Once – in that context – is enough.

Love is something beautifully human – Blog No. 23

Lovepizza

The dinosaurs did not fall in Love.  Neither did the dodo or the coelacanth.  Love is something that has become, with us.  It has evolved alongside humankind.  Physical attraction, chemistry – in all species – has always led to sex, the propagation of life.  This natural process is responsible, too, for the development of our ancestors, ourselves.  It has ensured our gradual improvement.  When Love turned up initially, things were different.  Love was for everyone, and there was enough.  It was not something one had that another need ever covet.  When Love became associated with ownership – i.e. possessed – and certain people were deemed unworthy of its touch – i.e. the untouchables – the real meaning behind Love’s message was lost.  Using hindsight, it would appear that it simply went elsewhere to validate its claim that it was not for sale, that its purpose was pre-ordained and its essence incorruptible.  In what became known as a time-warp, instead of buying into its demise, it left its shadow to fend off Love’s nemesis and went to fetch the testimony of its true representatives.

That Love has some extremes should come as no surprise.  It has spent centuries being stretched in virtually every direction.  It is even frequented, these days, by the likes of paedophiles, psychopaths and otherwise marginalised madmen.  Each has their story and each of those stories has cause.  When humans routinely call torture or protracted brutality ‘acts of Love’, though, it becomes time to review humans differently.  It is not time to redefine Love.  Love is not responsible for the indescribable cruelty some try to justify by using the line:  it’s only because I love you.  Humans are responsible for hiding violence behind that kind of lie.  If Love is the motivation behind an action then cruelty will not be a tactic used by anyone for any reason.  Ever.

Where Love discovers that it has been misunderstood or misrepresented it will take time to explain.  Like for every single contrived crime scene it will have an alibi.  That goes without saying.  The length of its explanation will depend on the degree of your misunderstanding and/or the level of misrepresentation.  Every alibi will be able to explain itself.  What Love will not do, however, is waste anyone’s time by rehabilitating idiots.  Idiots are best left to their own devices and Love is best when it lets idiots go.

Chronology – Blog No. 12

chronology

It is necessary to get things in their correct order.  That is not hierarchy, it is a process through which we reach the right outcome.  You cannot know what is next if you do not know what came before.  If you do not bother to find out what came before you can rest assured that your outcome will not be what you think it is.  It is not wise to decide that 1969 comes after 1972, for instance, because in this world, it doesn’t.  1972 would not have been what it is if 1969 had not come first.

Priorities are best in chronological order.  That way, you can see where you are versus where you were and you can then plan where you want to be.  In retrospect – using hindsight – chronology also gives you an accurate breakdown of your progress along your journey.  You can see where you made mistakes and how you overcame them, and you can work out why doing certain things at certain times is pointless.  Chronology is like A, B, C, D, E.  Or 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.  It is knowing that if you will fly, you must first grow wings.  Growing wings in 2015 is advisable if you will fly in 2017, for example.  Wings do not grow overnight.

A timeline is another kind of chronology, and it is somewhat like a map.  If you can read numbers, orders, you can read your future past and thereby arrive at your present destination with all your ducks in a row.  I have heard it said that ducks in a row are too easy to shoot, but that is perhaps a pessimist’s view.  Ducks in a row can slipstream.  That means unless you are using a bazooka you are unlikely to hit all the ducks with one shot.  Work out your timeline and trust its message.  We all have our own times and places to be – your timeline is not mine, mine is mine.  Yours is yours.  Timelines are exciting when you establish – and follow – their lead.  In essence they know more about you than you do.

IT – Blog No. 25

IT

When you consider that a computer responds to instructions which predate its reading of them, it becomes clear that unless there is a code-break written into the programme doing the instructing, there will be no halting the run of that programme. In other words, be careful what you set in motion, there may be no way of slowing it.

Alarmingly, should the encoder neglect to use both foresight and hindsight – and fail to plan contingencies for virtually every conceivable problem that might crop up – there is little he or she can do but stand on the sidelines and watch if unforseen problems should arise and trip their systems. It is worse than infuriating for an IT sideliner when that happens, it tends to expose the glaring gaps in their actual understanding.

Technology is everything, and nothing. That is its power. Can you imagine the entire world wide web and its networks shutting down for a day? Just one day would wreak havoc on this capitalist planet. Not everywhere would feel it immediately, but the effects of such a shut-down would knock on, and on, like dominoes. There is a renewed respect that must be afforded technology when considering the grip it has on mankind.

Timing – Blog No. 83

just-a-pinch-buddah-perfect-timingTiming is everything in life.  Just think, you cannot force a rose to bloom.  You cannot hurry up a caterpillar with its business of changing into a butterfly.  You stand back, and you watch.  When the time is right these things happen.  They know when.  If you are a wise person, you will appreciate every stage of the changing.  You will allow things to become what they must, in their own good time and you will marvel – with hindsight – at the process.  Hindsight is a tool.  Use it.  It is helpful when you want to get a feel for how far you have come.

Timing is vital.  If you jump at the wrong moment, for instance, you will land badly.  If you are going to leap, you must time your leap perfectly.  The only way to do that is to trust instinct implicitly when it comes to you, insisting.  Instinct will have all its reasons lined up and ready for inspection should you be able to stay quiet for long enough for them to make themselves heard.  You have to listen carefully to its justifications, instinct can explain your very purpose on the planet.

You are not where you are in time, by accident.  Your timing is your responsibility.  Use it to perfect yourself to benefit mankind.  Keep in mind that your version of a perfect self is whatever perfect means to you.  Perfect is being in a place where you like yourself, your contribution to the world.  If you are not in that place then you must ask yourself why.  There are always reasons why, you must just feel like hearing them.  If you can do something that no one else can do, do it so that others can see.  We can all benefit from that kind of sharing.  If you do not yet know what you are capable of, then learn.  There is always time for that.
