Tramlines and touch-downs – Blog No. 2

tramlines

There was a time once in Amsterdam when I found myself confined between the tramlines for about two hours.  It was a simple dilemma.  Walk across the line, or don’t.  That decision took some time and I am mighty glad that I made it when I did.  I found myself right where I needed to be, which was particularly fortuitous.  Another time in places flung far and wide I was fortunate to experience a good few touch-downs.  I found touching-down more satisfying than being confined.  Each has its merits, for a time, but it is one of the best feelings to find your feet planted firmly on earth after centuries of confinement in the sky.

Touch-downs involve scoring.  Adding up points. In a game of football, a touch-down is the objective.  Not the only one, but nevertheless one of the most important.  All the members of the team are trained to understand that their objective is collective.  They know that the ball will not get from one end of the field to the other without each man in his place.  That is not to say that footballers do not exchange places from time to time to play other positions.  They do.  In a game of skill it pays to be able to play the entire field.

San Francisco is a great place to find tramlines.  As is Switzerland.  Riding trams is a joy in the wetter weather, the cold – and when you find treasures lying inside them.  In my experience there is treasure to be found everywhere, particularly on trams that are made to sail past Wonderland on the way to Alice’s salvation.

Angels – Blog No. 28

angels

A white feather is said to indicate the presence of an angel.  The recent presence.  Should there be proof to the contrary I would like to see it.  Whether you believe in angels or whether you don’t is not really what matters, the importance of believing in something is what is helpful to your cause – i.e. your life.  If you are still of the opinion that those who choose to believe in a ‘greater’ something are delusional, you should perhaps ask them about their illusions.  If they have none – if they do not subscribe to illusion in the first place – then it is not possible for them to be delusional about a ‘greater’ something or any ‘other’ something, either, when all is considered.

An angel’s reputation is for ‘watching over’.  For protecting.  It is not a reputation that an angel takes lightly.  That is for a good reason.  Where protection is necessary, angels have their purpose.  If there should be a person on this planet that does not need protection from time to time, that would surprise me.   It would probably also delight me.  It is occasionally vital to feel delighted.  It is also occasionally vital to feel safe.

There is a good reason, too, to have guardians for what is commonly referred to on Earth as ‘Hell’.  Hell has some very valuable assets.  Should people be disinclined to believe that that is the case, they should visit it.  They may be pleasantly surprised by what they find behind its doors.  Mind you, not just anyone can walk through its doors.  As for ‘Heaven’, there is a passcode for Hell.  Naturally if you fail to fit the passcode, you cannot gain entry and you are automatically redirected back to Heaven.  Nevermind.  When given the choice, that is where most chose to go.

Confidence, and No Confidence – Blog No. 8

confidence-vs-arrogance-entrepreneur-chart

An important initial distinction to make is the difference between confidence and esteem. They are not the same thing. ‘No confidence’ suggests that there is a courage lacking in a person’s actions, a lack of belief in what a person is capable of doing – and by rights – should do, but doesn’t. Confidence – understandably – is the currency of politics, of scam-artists and esteemed liars. Also, it is the medium used by those who are certain about what what they want, and know that they can achieve it. Confidence is not arrogance, that is another story in itself.

Esteem is more personal, perhaps more fragile than confidence itself, is. Esteem is what affords an individual success, real success. This is because it is authentic – it cannot be manufactured or conjured up at will. In other words, it is a purely natural state of being. Esteem exists where a person is familiar with themselves and their purpose, and both the knowledge thereof – and the understanding – fills them with peace. That peace cannot be bought at any cost. Confidence is at times no more than a means to an end. Esteem has more integrity.

No confidence usually stems from a dented ego. Or damaged pride. This can be repaired in due course with the correct ministrations. Low self-esteem happens to persons who are failing in their focus, their purpose. It is not possible to have high self-esteem when you are not in a position to fulfil your reason(s) for being. If you consider that three quarters of this planet’s populace cannot currently fulfil their true reason(s) for being, you will understand why this earth is in the dire straights that it is.

Birthright – Blog No. 59

birthright

As a citizen of planet Earth you have a birthright. Human rights, too. You should value both. They afford you a status loftier than a rock, for example. Your birthright is involved with your karma. If you do not believe in karma, that is perhaps foolish. Karma is an energy. A living force. It resonates at the same frequency that you do, hence your karma is always able to locate you.

Birthright – as a title – should include the following words in its explanation: safety, love, truth, understanding, choice. These are needs. I am not sure enough people on this planet have access to all of the above when they are born. Today’s birthright seems confused between wants and needs. A birthright is about needs. Only.

A person’s birthright makes itself manifest in a fairly forthright manner. It is the measure of your life thus far. What you have been doing since the day you were born is what determines your reward in the form of your birthright. If you are familiar with yourself, you will know who you are the minute you open your eyes. If you aren’t, you won’t.

Roots – Blog No. 50

roots

Roots are the beginnings from seed, like chickens are the beginnings from eggs. We all begin somewhere. Roots are probably what to ask if you will know the state of the world in which we find ourselves. They know it all. They carry through them the news of what is happening in – and to – our environment. Roots can lead to all sorts of things. Even trees. That is their strength.

When you are rooted, you have central balance. Core stability. There are a number of different ways to root yourself. Like there are a number of ways to earth a charge. When there are droughts, roots dig themselves deeper into the ground. They surge, and at times, they reach the water table. That is to their advantage.

When you consider that rotting bodies gone to ground feed the soil with their truths, you will understand that in actual fact many a person’s essence has at some stage travelled through a plant. Perhaps that is why flowers bloom so beautiful.

Diplomacy – Blog No. 38

Diplomacy
It is not hard to use diplomacy when you still have hope.  When hope begins to dwindle, diplomacy goes out of the window.  I believe, for the most part, in hoping.  I am concerned that those that do not, are short-changing themselves and everybody else.  In the big picture.  This planet is not dead yet.  However, it is not far from being damaged beyond repair by mankind’s greed and that is then really the end.  That reality is very easy to see.  Ironically, that ending only matters to (all) life here on Earth.  You would think that would mean something to the majority of people.  It doesn’t.

But – life springs from the most unlikely sources.  One day, it will spring again.  When the timing is right, and the circumstances perfect, life will spring again and living creatures will appear like magic!  We can but wait.  Perfection takes aeons to perfect itself.  Perhaps when that happens, when life comes again, it will have grown minds that can conceive of – and comprehend – immediately their own immortality.  Perhaps then those minds will use their understanding to help others transcend this experience. It is but one of many.

Youth – Blog No. 36

youth

It is not easy being young.  Ever.  It is harder today, however, than ever before.  The primary reason for this is an innate awareness that the planet we are on is in a critical state.  There is a pervading sense of doom hovering over the long-term future of the humans on Earth, i.e. the youth understand that because of the way this world currently chooses to work, there won’t be any humans in the future.  It is challenging finding the motivation to repair a damaged world when you have the knowledge that you are speeding towards your own extinction, because people prioritise living their lives – having their ‘moment’ – and that takes time and focus away from fixing the problems they can fix.  It is important to live life and fix it as you go.

Perhaps the biggest challenge facing today’s youth is the choice of what to do with their lives.  There is the ever-pressing concern about earning enough to be able to live the life you are promised in every advert, every magazine.  Without money, we are taught, what are we?  This fact of reality discourages people from daring to follow their hearts and occupy their lives with what they love to do.  Because a person in this society needs to earn to live a reasonable life, a ‘safe’ life, people are choosing careers that will make them rich and safe, rather than fulfilled and pushing at their highest potential.  One is fulfilled when one does work with its own intrinsic value and gets paid to do so.  One pushes at one’s highest potential when one is challenged in one’s field of expertise.  I am sure more of the youth need to be shown that the careers that currently exist are not the only careers there can ever be.  The youth must create their own career options.  They can do that by each developing their unique strengths and dreaming of a healed world.

I would hazard a guess that the youth of 2014 are not impressed with the state of the planet.  Whatever they are not told by the media, whatever propaganda is shoved in their faces, whichever lies they grow up with, they know the truth of the matter.  They feel the planet’s plight.  Their childhoods are short and from day one, they are generally bent to conforming to a deformed social ideal.  Therein lies the problem that if resolved effectively, will change the entire outlook for this planet’s future.

Caring – Blog No. 12

caringCaring is a particularly beautiful human trait.  It is a way of being, a mode of conduct.  Those who care in this world will find that their days are made great by virtue of their efforts.  The days of others are made special because of their efforts, too, and that is important.  It is your job as a human being to make a difference to the lives of other sentient beings – you cannot escape that reality.

Failing to care brings with it grave consequence.  That of meaninglessness.  When you do not care, nothing has meaning, and when nothing in your life has meaning your existence is pointless.  Yes – the meaning of life is a vital component in each of our everydays and it makes sense to care about what your life means – to yourself, and to others.  You are alive – you are meant to live and you are meant to give that living, meaning.

Care builds powerhouses out of communities.  When people care, they pull together.  Unity is the cornerstone of progress and since progress – global progress, i.e. a world made better for everyone – is where Earth is headed, care and unity really should be at the top of everyone’s agenda.  Those who refuse to care for the well-being of this planet and its inhabitants, its Natural legacy, will find their heads empty and their hearts heavy with dread when the time comes for them to leave this Earth.  You do not want to be leaving this Earth with an empty head and a feeling of dread.  My suggestion – please give a shit.  It might just save what’s left of your lives.

Good news – Blog No. 8

goodThe good news is that the world of humans is not changing too fast for Nature to evolve alongside it.  Nature is way ahead of the humans.  The humans are merely speeding up the rate of extinction on this planet – their own, included.  For Nature – that is very good news.  As soon as the humans are gone, this world will be at peace with itself.  It will exist without labelling, without cruelty, without greed, without division, without hatred.  Nature will go back to its vast drawing board, as it always does, and in due course it will come up with something even more spectacular than human beings.  It is a pity that there will be no humans left to appreciate the display.  But humans do not appreciate what they have already and theirs’ is the destructive ignorance.  The stupidity.  That there will be no back-slapping on Earth in the coming ages is perhaps something to look forward to.  The humans have always been too busy claiming accolades that are not theirs’ to claim and undoubtedly should Nature deliver another round of ‘miracles’ or ‘universal magic’ or whatever you want to call it, if they were around, the humans would somehow imagine themselves responsible for the majestic feat.  They are that arrogant.

Humans are incidental.  They are dispensable.  All of them.  They are not necessary for the survival of this planet.  What is valuable about a human being, interesting, is its intelligence – preferably when it is being used.  Intelligence does not die.  It lives on, in itself.  It has its very own ecosystem, if you like.  Intelligence transcends death, its reach is beyond the grave.  Like a great many other things that are going to start causing problems for the humans on this planet.  Know that it is possible to be intelligent without an education, but an education does help a great many people access their intelligence.

The good news is that about 5% of the population of this planet can save the environment with their cash.  They could extend the planet’s longevity this way, greatly improve their standing.  They have no standing simply because of their wealth, understand that.  It is what you do with your money when you have it that speaks for who you are, and who you are – in this world – is what is measured.  These people have to want to use their money to benefit something or someone other than themselves, though, and sadly not many of them seem to want to do that.  They are short-sighted.  Selfish.  They exist in a colossal vacuum, which is ultimately to their huge detriment.  Did no one hear that the only honourable pursuit for a thinking person is the lifting of mankind from the gutter?  Raise mankind above man.  There is nothing honourable about sitting in an ivory tower watching mankind flailing around on the ground like a fish out of water.

Force – Blog No. 3

spfol0458In order for military force to be eradicated from this world, all the countries on the planet would need to be trustworthy.  They are not.  Can you imagine North Korea ever opening up and becoming trusting of the rest of the world?  You cannot trust them to be open for one minute.  They are paranoid.  Scared of watermelons.  And that is dangerous; it makes for reactionary, trigger-happy.  Certainly they are not the only ones who do not trust in this world.  In fact I do not think any leader trusts any other leader, really.  I am not surprised.  Each has their agenda to try and squeeze into the Universal schedule and it would seem that when time is measured, as it is, there is no space in the calendar for charity.

The best loyalty is that which develops through ongoing mutual trust.  You cannot force loyalty.  You cannot employ fear and expect to be shown loyalty.  Ever.  Fear may force allegiance, but it cannot force loyalty.  At base-level, loyalty is what you want.  It is what you need in this life.  When it comes to loyalty, tread gently, respectfully.  You are working with heart.  You cannot force your heart.  It should be said that a forced hand is not a happy hand.  It may do your bidding, but it will not move to save you when the tables are turned.  And believe me, the tables are always turned.

A forceful spirit is not what to aspire to.  Please remember, spirit is gentle.  Unless it gets extremely angry.  Let’s keep the collective spirit, calm.  Understand that because of the way we have all built Earth, force is occasionally necessary – to explain in this day and age to a mindset warped by violence – that violence is not acceptable.  After countless experiments it has been established that this is the only effective measure (with the majority, the masses) in getting a violent mindset to stand down.
