A good day for a Zulu wedding – Blog No. 31

culture

Culture is important to those that have one.  A culture develops through the centuries and is dependent on its people living, its ancestors.  We all have ancestors.  Some are just better remembered than others.  There is little that is interesting about those people lacking a fundamental history about which they can feel personally proud, no matter what that history entailed.  We have all experienced exploitation and violence in our times.  We have all had to swallow our pride at one time or another.  Should your culture be dull and empty of resonance, that can be considered a problem of sorts.  There are ways to remedy this deficiency, but they are few and far between.

A good way to begin the remedying of a dying culture is to give it a place in your future.  Find out what you are, who is in you.  The coding of your DNA can give you this information.  Once you know the scope of your coding then you need to contemplate how much of your person has evolved through nurture – and what percentage of you is a given from Nature.  These kinds of names and numbers are important if you wish to survive a cultural extinction.

There is an absolute strength and a deep humility in an established culture.  It is the balance of these factors – amidst others – that determines the success and reach of a culture’s influence.  A beautiful people generally have a beautiful culture.  If you can recognise beautiful people you will intuitively understand that.  Those with beautiful cultures live with the knowledge that the connection they have with their past is what will carry them into the future.  We can all learn from those people.

Solitude vs Transference – Blog No. 31

moons

It is challenging to prevent yourself from practicing transference.  In your every exchange with another there will be energy expended in the direction of the other and there will be energy from the other that will find its way to you.  It is necessary to be selective with your energies.  It is wise in this life to interact with energies that bring out your best.  In this regard it is helpful to be of a positive mindset – optimists tend towards energies that lend themselves to development rather than destruction.  An important learning is which energies you are willing to accept and which energies you need to deflect.  Under no circumstances is it necessary to accept every energy that comes your way.

Solitude for many people is a plateau.  A place of repose.  It is not to say that solitude does not lend itself to development, but the nature of the progress made with yourself on your own is perhaps slower than the advances that can be made in relationships.  Naturally, it does depend on the status of the relationship you find yourself in.  If there is unnecessary stress in the relationships through which you choose to learn, it is better to take yourself out of those particular relationship equations.

Whether it can be said that solitude is preferable is a matter of personal opinion.  It depends on what kind of a relationship you have with yourself.  At times it is far more pleasant to be alone than it is to be with idiots.  That is not insulting to people in general, it is just how it is.  How you get ‘alone’ is your business.  Some can take themselves to that place and some cannot.  For those that cannot, it is a pity.

Here we go again … Blog No. 1

scales

So.  2015.  What kind of a year do we want?  What kind of a year do we need?  These are important considerations.  I suspect if it were possible for everyone to agree on one thing, it would be that we do not need a year of disasters.  That would be a good place to begin.  Disasters happen – not without warning, but without permission.  It depends on the proclivity of the disaster, for disaster.  Natural happenings are not synonymous with disaster.  Nature, is Nature.  That will never change.  It would be important to remember that vibrations and frequencies are not felt only by mankind.

It would perhaps be sensible to choose to think positively for the betterment of everything.  If you cannot figure out how to do that, and some people cannot, then begin to think of yourself as a prayer-flag.  Feel your thoughts.  Know they all have purpose.  When the winds of change come, what do wish for them to blow through you?  What do you wish to be left with?  These are some of the things you should be thinking about.  Like what does the ‘prayer’ of you – as written on your particular flag – say for you?  It will say your truth.  That need not be uncomfortable.

There will be ups and downs, as with each year that swings around.  That is normal, to be expected.  What we can hope for, are more ups than downs – in the traditional manner of speaking.  It is time for a few more smiles, given freely, and a lot more love.  Love is what takes us all home.  That is how we can know it is on its way.

Stereotyping – Blog No. 37

stereotype

It is important not to stereotype people, a people.  Stereotyping and assumption are not that far removed from one another.  For instance, you cannot assume that because a man comes from a line of ancestors that believed in the practice of eating humans, he is a ‘savage’ at heart.  You cannot assume any of his ancestors were savages at heart, either.  It is the same to me as calling these communities ‘primitive’ simply because they choose – or chose – to live at one with Nature, pitted against her elements – rather than adapting to the alternative, Christianity, and drowning in the shame that colonisers brought to their shores.  For cannibals, the practice of eating another human being was a very serious business, it was not a wild urge that needed ‘taming’ by the whites.

Stereotyping tends to result in the objectifying of people, a people.  It gives them a label before they have had a chance to show who they are.  If labelled wrongly, a person may become disinclined to show anybody anything.  It does not take long to realise that it is a serious waste of energy trying to convince a prejudiced mind that it is mistaken.  When that prejudiced mindset is eventually exposed – because it will be – there will be no one around who will be bothered to tell that mind the real truth.

Stereotyping is a cop out.  Rather take the time to find out who a person is, and what has shaped them the way they have become.  Judgements are split-second, that is true for most people and it is not easy to refrain from deciding at a glance what a person is about.  You cannot know what a person is about unless you understand what made them the way they are.  The only way to know that, is to ask.  If you do not get an answer, it is likely that you will not understand.

The Animal Kingdom – Blog No. 25

The Animal KingdomThere is a vocation.  A calling.  It is called Investigator of Kingdoms.  It is all-encompassing.  When you are required to make an informed decision you need to gather all the information.  That means checking the ins and outs of every kingdom.  There are a great many, The Animal Kingdom but one.  Ask people who game.  In part they are all investigators of kingdoms, some of them extraordinarily adept at what they do.  Ask people who save animals for a living.  Theirs’ is a kingdom.  Ask people who have crowned money their king.  They belong to a kingdom, too.  There is even a point in asking a murdering savage why he does what he does.  He will say because he wants to.  What can you say to that in a free world?

The Animal Kingdom belongs to Nature.  That is the first – and easiest – thing to understand.  Man, too – belongs to Nature.  Woman, belongs to the Sun.  Notoriously possessive, the Sun is a formidable opponent.  His shield is virtually impossible to penetrate.  The Sun shields the Virgin.  That is the second thing to understand.  If you will reach her sanctity you must brave fire.  In the Animal Kingdom you will find carrion.  What else does the wild feed upon?  The stench of death does not deter them from feasting.  You will find bones, thrown here and there.  Everywhere.  Then you will find hyenas.  They shriek and eat bones.  Vultures abound, too.  They tidy up nicely.

The Animal Kingdom impacts a lot of pain.  Their pain – generated almost entirely by humans – is revisited upon the planet for the humans to experience.  The randomness with which sudden death appears to consume people, for instance, is no different to the randomness with which hunting humans seem to choose their targets.  Right.  You.  Bam.  Most hunting humans do not say sorry when they kill.  Nor do they say thank you.  They should.  It gives them headway when they become the hunted.

Succeeding – Blog No. 21

jackpotSucceeding is far more satisfying than winning is.  Long term.  Winning is a delight, there can be no doubt about that feeling – to be the best at something is a personal achievement indeed.  Whatever that best, be.  But the joy that winning brings you is short-lived.  You are only ever as good as your latest victory.  If you are in the business of winning then you will know that is the truth.  The thing about winning is that there will always be someone who can beat you.  In the end.  That is the way of Nature.  Challenges are posed, accepted.  Territories are won, lost.  Survival of the fittest is nothing to be sniffed at.

Take pride in your successes.  Do not rub them in other people’s faces.  Be modest, enjoy the freedom that succeeding brings you.  Surround yourself with people who will celebrate your successes with you, people who wish to see you succeed at those things you do that mean something to you.  It is pointless surrounding yourself with people who wish to see you fall, or fail.  That is counter-productive.

Success is empowering.  When you set yourself a goal, or give yourself a deadline, you are posing a challenge.  Throwing down a gauntlet.  When you accept the challenge and then ensure that you do achieve the goal or meet the deadline, you are giving your self esteem a needed boost.  The kind of pleasure success brings you feeds your soul.  There is a reason for having self esteem, you should pay attention to yours.  It is safer to rely on yourself to boost your esteem, when you give another that task you are playing a risky game.  Set yourself goals.  Give yourself deadlines.  Let yourself achieve them.  Feed on your successes.  They buffer you against failure.

Domination – Blog No. 16

Mc_DominationDomination is an interesting game to play.  We have all spent time trying to dominate – situations, people, opinions.  The need to be dominant is a throw-back to our wild.  Males and females both do it.  Children try it on all the time.  Domination is not wholly an unhealthy pursuit, it just depends how far you will go to be the dominator.  Take Russia for example, they are busy playing dangerous domination games.  They will dominate in Crimea, despite the rising tide of negative public opinion with regards this particular pursuit of power.  It would seem that they imagine themselves invincible.  Their view is irresponsible, provocative, and it does not sit easy with the global community.  Perhaps Russia should give some thought to the fact that they are currently disturbing the balance on our planet.  This has consequences.  I do not believe that Russia has the right to decide that Crimea needs to be a part of its make-up.  Crimea belongs to the Crimeans, not the Russians.  In fact, it is peculiarly obnoxious for Russia to be stretching its borders to include land that does not belong under Russia’s thumb.  It would seem that Vladimir Putin forgets that invasions did not work well for Hitler in the long run.  His big ideas are small-minded.  Outdated.  In actuality – backward.  In fact it has to be asked – who exactly does Russia think it is?  It cannot convince anyone that its objectives are honourable, no matter how earnest its self-righteous claims.

Domination is a key factor in relationships.  Traditionally, women have learned and played the submissive role.  Men have been the dominators.  Of course there are many exceptions to this rule, but conditioning has seen to it that men stand head and shoulders above women when it comes to being ‘in charge’.  It is refreshing to see the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, making inroads in a male-dominated industry.  Politics is an industry, as much as capitalism is an industry.  It is encouraging to watch Hilary Clinton at work in her fields of expertise – the adherence to the ways of women bodes well for the future of global diplomacy.  There are good reasons why women are usually better at diplomacy than men are.  Theirs’ is a learned patience, an inherent understanding of how the world and its people work.

Sex is about domination.  Base instinct sees males mounting females in Nature, although it should be remembered that mating in Nature is most often consensual.  A male will seldom mount a female unless she has given him the go-ahead.  With humans, it is not always this way.  There seems to be a subliminal need for humans to demonstrate their prowess – their core ‘power’ – by being the person ‘on top’.  Both men and women subscribe to this theory of sexuality and both use their wiles and their ways to make their statement of fact.  Be aware that rape is about domination.  Slavery is about domination.  Domestic violence is about domination, as is child abuse.  Think about it.  Domination needs careful management.  Ungoverned, it creates problems, pain, wars.

Senses – Blog No. 15

5senses1-01-01-01You have physical senses of which you are (mostly) aware.  Apart from those that you have purposely suppressed, repressed.  In your allegiance to society’s flawed say-so, you are subjugating yourself by denying the truth of your reality.  If you concentrate, your senses explain your true reality to you.  Do not be fooled, listen and learn.  You let your senses get bent by conditioning, you allow your senses to be told what to feel and what to do.  This is not productive.  You need to change your circumstances so that society listens to what your senses have to say, not the other way around.

Celebrate your senses.  Know that you have more than five.  You have a sense of being, for instance.  A sense of balance, of understanding.  Use every sense made available to you, do not be afraid to succumb to their pull, their sway.  Your sense of mind is another valuable gift given to you by Nature.  Do not shun the given.  Should you not realise that your suppression – repression – of your senses is a fatal flaw in your being, you will find yourself on the outside of the inside.  You do not want to be on the outside.  Bring yourself in, into yourself, embrace your understanding.  You have every capacity to understand and mould your reality, and then you reserve the right to break that mould.  Your mould, your right to change its shape.

Consider that you see only what society wants you to see.  Change that.  Consider that you smell – on a subliminal level – the subtle musk of other human beings, the ‘attraction scent’ given off by women, men, despite the inappropriateness of this reality in our über politically correct society.  These scents are enough to mess with your head if you are not aware that you are affected each day by the raw Nature of others.  The subtleties happen to you all day, every day, should you be in contact with other humans.  If you should spend a lot of time with others, your senses will quite likely be more developed than you perhaps give them credit for.  This is an advantage.  Know that being alone does not preclude you from sensing to perfection your actuality, it simply means that you must become more attuned to your wants, your needs, your knowing.  Senses are knowing; all-knowing.  Trust them.

Caring – Blog No. 12

caringCaring is a particularly beautiful human trait.  It is a way of being, a mode of conduct.  Those who care in this world will find that their days are made great by virtue of their efforts.  The days of others are made special because of their efforts, too, and that is important.  It is your job as a human being to make a difference to the lives of other sentient beings – you cannot escape that reality.

Failing to care brings with it grave consequence.  That of meaninglessness.  When you do not care, nothing has meaning, and when nothing in your life has meaning your existence is pointless.  Yes – the meaning of life is a vital component in each of our everydays and it makes sense to care about what your life means – to yourself, and to others.  You are alive – you are meant to live and you are meant to give that living, meaning.

Care builds powerhouses out of communities.  When people care, they pull together.  Unity is the cornerstone of progress and since progress – global progress, i.e. a world made better for everyone – is where Earth is headed, care and unity really should be at the top of everyone’s agenda.  Those who refuse to care for the well-being of this planet and its inhabitants, its Natural legacy, will find their heads empty and their hearts heavy with dread when the time comes for them to leave this Earth.  You do not want to be leaving this Earth with an empty head and a feeling of dread.  My suggestion – please give a shit.  It might just save what’s left of your lives.

Jealousy – Blog No. 10

JealousyJealousy is a pest.  However, it should never be ignored.  It should be dealt with each and every time it stings your life.  Jealousy’s root is Love, which is extremely positive.  Love with a capital L because when you understand the very powerful force that Love is, as opposed to the distant whisper of ‘a’ love with a little l, you will understand that the capital is as deserved as that of Nature’s capital N.  Your human nature is small, the force of Nature is omnipresent, and omnipotent.

If you can realise that jealousy is in fact Love upside-down then you will be able to accept it, because you will know that it comes from pure motivation, despite its effects on a person being negative.  Pure motivation can be trusted, so trust your feelings, but do not allow them to dominate your behaviours.  This is in your power.  You have to control a jealous surge if it rises inside you – bring your mind to heel.  The jealousy is just your mind playing games with your insecurities.

Jealousy is not the same as envy.  Be sure you know the difference.  Jealousy is not possessiveness, either, although the two are often entwined.  Please know that you cannot possess another person.  That will kill their spirit.  If it can be accepted that nothing is ‘yours’ to hold on to in this life, then jealousy becomes unnecessary.  You realise that you cannot allow your mind to dominate you with its hints, suggestions, and you move on from feelings of jealousy with a determination.  You hold mind firmly in its place – it knows well where that place is – and you stand back and watch your jealousy happen, and then let it go.  It is essential to let it go.
