Contraception – Blog No. 54

Contraception-WTAThis world is over-populated.  Use contraception in any shape or form.  That is the first fact to get into your head.  The second, is that birthing more than two children in this day and age is not just irresponsible, it is selfish.  How many times must you duplicate yourself in this world?  It is immaterial how much money you have.  If you love children enough to want ten, then adopt for god’s sake.  Do you know how many children do not have families on this planet?  What can they learn of Earth?  Theirs’ will be an emptiness within that will be very hard to fill.  If you cannot cope with the idea of adopting – and some people do not want to bring up another’s progeny – that is fine, but do not flood the world with your seed.  Men must update their thinking – more is not more.  Less is more for 2013 and beyond.  If you cannot conceive, you do not rush to the hospital for IVF treatment.  You wait and you see what Nature has in store for you.  Why force her hand, time and again?  Who do you think you are, demanding of her with your impatience?  Do you not think she – of all – knows best?  Do you not think she is measuring your bodies for success?  Of course she is.  She is waiting for the perfect time.  Each time you conceive unnaturally you are missing that window.  Her pace is that of patience, as a guide in life you cannot hope to find better.  If you want a child more than anything in the world, then you know as well as the next person that any child will do for you the same job.  That is important to understand.

Children love unconditionally for a very long time.  Their capacity for forgiveness – if that is even what it is to them – is humbling to see as a human being.  It is sad to think about how many times an abused child will try to make sense of what ‘love’ is.  They will forgive time and again without question, in pursuit of love.  That is what a child is born expecting to be shown.  Love.  Remember – if they are damaged children, they will have to be taught what love is.  You cannot expect a child who has been kicked around or fostered in five abusive families to function normally.  That would be insane.  That is why social services in every country in the world needs more money to do the job they are trying to do.  We need to take the problem out before it happens.  Also, you cannot move a child every five minutes and hope they will be well-adjusted to function in society at the end of it all.  You are affecting their sense of identity when you change their environment.  Appreciate that if you move a child from school to school, and/or house to house, you are forcing them to rely on change as a constant.  This can be a risky business.  If you pile the witnessing of domestic abuse on top of that and/or substance abuse, you are showing the child that violence is acceptable and/or that addiction is a potential path to follow.  Addiction to anything is not recommended, food included.  A lot of people are addicted to food and refuse to admit it.  That is no different to many alcoholics sitting at the AA.  Whether their ‘Twelve Steps’ is what to take from their ministering I can’t say, but I have heard that following God up the steps is required.  That all makes sense if you believe there is a God.  There are a lot of alcoholics who do not think there is a God.  This reality should be taken into consideration.

The church should really swallow its contraception and abortion arguments.  It is time.  If it cannot swallow its pride on this and give real ground as well as ideological ground as an institution then it is failing its followers.  It is choice that humans seek, not strict governance by a set of backward rules.  The Catholics in particular can reshuffle their policies, their celibacy laws have bred abuse and paedophilia and their issue with contraception is going to lose them followers faster than the revelation of their true wealth.  The Catholics must be called upon to explain why they have so much of this planet’s land under their belts.  They need to free up space, they need to sell on and move out.  The poor need houses.  The church can sell their properties and pay for the housing.  That is what any charitable institute would do.  And a humble religion – which all religions aspire to be, surely – will have a humble portfolio.  I think the Catholics need to show their willingness to really help the people change the state of their planet.  How else can they redeem themselves?  Alms, are alms.

Limitations – Blog No. 50

1001052_393339104104509_1687252269_nYou create your own limitations.  Break with your tradition of thinking and remove the worn out ideas – your core ‘staple’ thoughts – to free up space for a new world-view.  It is time.  There is not time any longer for being overly precious about your angers and your hatreds – you must see each one, face to face, and then let it fly.  It is time to let go of your toxic thoughts.  Write them on paper and set fire to them.  It is cathartic watching the flames.  I suggest you do not get too sentimental about your letting go, either.  Clean up your head willingly, it can only help you.  Your thoughts contain your future, they are the building blocks of your existence.  Make them strong.  Positive.  And think big.  Dream of a world where there is more peace and tolerance, more respect and goodwill, compassion.  Expect that world to materialise.  But first – remove the boundaries you set for yourself by addressing your own negatives.  When you can look at your negative behaviours and your destructive behaviours and understand why there are times when you act (seemingly) to sabotage your own life, then you will find yourself closer to knowing just who you are and how powerful your nature is.  Your nature is essentially what you are. What you are is not the same as who you are.  You must know both.  That is why being natural is important.  It shows respect for your beginnings.  If you cannot be easy in your natural state you are missing out, it is a peace like none other.

This world has a self-consciousness that needs exploring.  Perhaps there are too many mirrors?  Perhaps it matters too much in some places how you present yourself to the planet.  But in these places where picture-perfect matters the people can be left to themselves, they are all aspiring to be the same object – so they become one and the same and no one needs to worry.  Narcissus looked first to himself and last, at himself.  When you have a mindset that understands shopping for a living, celebrity-worshipping and very little else it is harmless in the larger scheme of things.  These people do not contribute to our days.  Their attention is focussed elsewhere and their heads are empty.  In fact their free space is legendary.  It is when these people speak shit that we have a problem.  Their thoughts are very easy to deflect but their words cause a nuisance.  There are too many ignorant people speaking hatred with authority and that is a problem in our western world.  How many people these days read more than the daily tabloid?  You cannot get anywhere in life by reading the tabloids.  Please.  Fill your head with relevant facts.  Who this woman is who slept with 30 men in her quest for fame is not a relevant fact.  Lazy people do not bother to read about the state of their own futures in the hands of the dodgy politicians they put in power – either through voting, or NOT voting.  There is no excuse for not voting.  None.  Lazy people do not bother to read about what state their world is in, how their natural world is shrinking.  There is no time for laziness in our current climate.  We need to make a statement against the way things are.  We do not do that by avoiding taking responsibility.  We all become informed – even one new piece of information each day.  That way – you are growing your awareness and you are forming opinions.  It is natural.  You will have an opinion one way or another on this thing, that thing.  It is interesting hearing your own opinions.  You must feel how it feels to believe something.  You will know how it feels.  There is a power behind your idea, your ideas.  You cannot pretend to yourself to believe something.  And don’t worry about believing everything you read – you won’t.  You have discernment and you are equipped to use it.  Check your sources and find reliable facts with which to build your understanding of what is happening to our world.  Trust your opinions but do not force them on other people.  Suggesting is always better.  Put your opinions up against the opinions of others and see how your thinking measures up.  Together we can find a way to make the people who hold power, listen.  It is all in the way you ask them to hear you.  You cannot be unresponsive to an appeal made in earnest, with pure motivation.  It would be to go against the spirit of living and violate our right of abode as citizens of Earth.

This world needs to recognise that limitations are impractical.  If you can conceive of not succeeding then you have the wrong goal.  What is the point wasting time on following to conclusion something that you, yourself, do not believe in?  To have doubts is natural, healthy, it keeps you from complacency.  But do not consider failure before you consider success.  Then you will fail.  You have to be able to stretch your perception to include the possibility that you have everything you need to get you to your best.  Who you are – at this exact moment in time – is enough.  Trust your experiences – always.  Trust your innocence – always.  If you manage your life effectively you will find that you develop your innocence rather than allow it to be lost.  You feed your innocence and learn from experience.  It is easy.  Trust your inner child for guidance.  It knows what to do.  If you have not yet made the acquaintance of your inner child you ought to make your introductions, soon.  Your inner child uses pure motivation.  You can learn a lot from watching its decision-making.

Death – Blog No. 49

600x685_death-penaltyYou cannot just have 25 000 bumblebees drop dead in Oregon.  I’m sorry, it’s just not good enough.  They spray pesticides in the trees and the bees land in the toxic mess and all of them die.  That is 150 COLONIES of bumblebees.  Nature must just make the adjustment?  I think Nature is very tired of making adjustments for man.  She is tired of impacting man’s shit.  You cannot just have an oil spill that wipes out an entire bay of creatures.  You cannot just go drilling in the Arctic and trash the landscape.  You cannot keep murdering rhinos and lions with impunity.  Nature will not take much more of man’s meddling.  She is getting fed up of his sticking his fingers into her every orifice.  Stop genetic modifications – it is not for man to bend Nature’s say-so.  For god’s sake.  Nature was perfect in her execution before man came along – and she will be perfect long after he has gone.  He should watch her with more awe – and show her far more respect.  Does this planet wonder why violent death is at an all-time high?  You get what you give.  Nature sees man’s casual destruction of her majesty.  He is her progeny – lucky for him – and she must watch as he systematically destroys his mother.  Where is the sense in that?  She has invested her everything in you.  From the beginning.  It is time you appreciated that.

When AIDS took over Africa – because let’s face it, it has – was that Nature returning man’s compliment?  When she speaks she does not mince her words.  In fact, when Nature speaks it is best you shut up and listen.  Who said she does not have a voice?  She speaks in silence, in whispers of wind.  She speaks in tsunamis.  She speaks in tornado tongues.  She speaks in disease.  Do not underestimate her.  Really.  It would be your gravest mistake.  The thing is – Nature needs man’s help.  Without his help she will continue to suffer and the simple equation goes like this:  should she continue to suffer, man will continue to suffer.  How many ways does this have to spelled out before someone wakes up and takes notice?  Karma.  The cycle of life.  Flow.  Whatever you choose to recognise it as – there is a pure energy in this world that has its origin in Nature.  Nature is flawless.  She has imperfections – mutations – but she is immaculate in her happening.  Each season she bothers to come out with  a brand new display for humans to enjoy.  Do you even notice?  Are you so busy with your head stuck in the sand doing nothing to save your world that you fail to appreciate your source?  You must wake up and appreciate exactly what a creature you are and where you come from.  You are Nature.  Learn that and love that you are her reflection.  Trust, please, that you are not JUST or ONLY human.  There is no such thing as just human.  You are your own miracle, be sure what you choose to do with yourself is worthwhile.

When the Germans murdered the Jews and the Rwandan Hutu and Tutsi had their minds bent enough by a regime to hack each other up with machetes there was death on a large scale.  Hatred is fostered – it is a man-made thing.  It is usually based on a bed of lies so know that it has weak foundations.  You can easily conquer it if you face up to it.  You have to be discerning in this century, choose your battles wisely.  Eradicating hatred is a a big battle to have chosen, but it is the only way we will make this planet into the Utopia it is promised to be.  Earth can be a model of mutual respect, tolerance, understanding.  It can be RIGHT.  We can make it right.  We all have to decide what is wrong, first, and then know what we will not tolerate.  We all have a say.  We all live on earth.  We have internet and can communicate – a lot of people cannot have their say.  Why is it fine in some countries to hear public opinion and in others it is banned?  That is ridiculous.  How can you find out what your people need and want if you do not ask them?  These countries are operating on fear and that is not right.  You do not take the tack of scaring a people into doing what you want.  That is called bullying and bullying on a global scale cannot be tolerated.  China – stop bullying your people.  Let them breathe air for once that is not contaminated by your state propaganda.  Stop bullying Africans.  And stop bribing Africans, please.  They have a weakness for your dollars.

Sex – Blog No. 47

male-female-mobileSex is not a word that should make you shy or fearful in this day and age.  If it makes you fearful, then you have issues that need dealing with professionally.  If your sex is damaged in any way you need to address the subject with a person who is trained to tell you how to deal with the trauma and help you assimilate your experience(s).  If you are an adult shy around sex it means that you are immature in your understanding of its power.  If it makes you giggle and blush then you are probably Catholic.  Catholics and sex have a long history of conflict.  Puritans, too.  These religious institutions understand the power of sex and as such, will try to control it.  Theirs’ is a delusion.  The church cannot control the sex of a population.  That part of them belongs firmly to Nature.  How you choose to express your sexuality is your business.  There should not be anyone overly interested in your sexual persuasion unless you are a paedophile or a rapist, in which case you should be named, shamed, and then castrated.  A paedophile should not be allowed anywhere near children.  If you make the mistake of abusing a child even once – you should never be given a person’s faith again.  Ever.  For the rest – the normal human beings out there – you are what you are, and you are who you are.  No matter who or what you are, understand that sex is a sacred act.  It should be.  Who you choose as a partner is of consequence and what you do to and with their body is of consequence.

Sex is both give and take.  It is a learning.  It is not something you are born good at, it is something you get good at.  If you can be bothered.  In our contemporary society there is so much taking going on that the scales are seriously off balance.  People do not take time enough to learn each other well.  Men take sex from a lot of women – who offer it willingly to just about anyone who will show them attention.  This coupling is neither romantic, nor does it have anything to do with love.  It is an exchange of fluids and a flood of oxytocin.  Oxytocin is a very powerful hormone.  A lot of people are addicted to its effect.  This means a lot of people neither care nor worry about where they pull a partner from.  A lot of women are looking for princes and a lot of men know how easy it is to flatter the pants off a wannabe princess.  Wannabe princesses abound in our society.  I hope the men of the future are equipped to deal with the fall-out.

Excellent sex is about love.  Love is about soul.  It is about a true connection.  Pornography is not helpful as a starting block – there are too many people in our world with bent expectations of sex.  Hard-core porn and child-porn are particularly problematic – the trade in transgression is out of control.  It is not easy to correct a mindset aligned with transgression.  How do you stop a world, literally, from screwing itself up further?  You remind the people that sex is personal expression.  Be careful who you show what.  Have some respect.  Your demonstration speaks for you in more ways than one.  Should you wish to waste your sex on random strangers then know that you are damaging yourself.  Worse – you are using people.  If you use people you will be used.  Your sex will become empty and you will not be fulfilled.  To be unfulfilled is not something to aspire to.  Too many people use sex as a pain-killer in this fractured society.  This is wrong sex.  Right sex is a sharing.  And do not ever confuse physical intimacy with love.  They are not the same thing.  If you allow someone to take your body and use it for their own gratification – no matter what fairytales are singing in your ears – you are responsible for the damage done to your psyche.  You cannot escape your psyche – ever.  Keep it clean.

Nature – Blog No. 43

naturePlease take time to appreciate your world.  Pick flowers.  Stand in the rain, sniffing the wet.  Notice creatures, don’t kill them.  Don’t step on a caterpillar because you are too lazy to adjust your stride.  Be aware of your big feet.  You are accountable for each thing you kill on this planet.  More to the point – have some respect for Nature.  She is what gave you life, gives you life.

If you are going to hunt something, you must eat it.  Hunting is acceptable when it is for survival.  Culling.  I find culling slightly objectionable.  Man decides that the animals are too many for their environment and so he kills them off to tidy up that anomaly.  What if the gods suddenly decided that us humans were too many for our environment and tidied up our numbers by shooting millions of us?  I think we’d object.  Is that what genocide is?  Disease?  Murder?  I do not see this subject as God’s argument.  I see that it is Nature restoring equilibrium.  You can count on some major ‘culling’ being done on a daily basis in this world.  A lot of people die every day.  This is how it is, we cannot be sentimental about dropping numbers.  We need to be realistic, accept Nature’s give and take.  The way a lot of people die is not great.  That is a problem.  Can you imagine the luxury of dying in your sleep with a full stomach when you are facing an AK 47?  Starving?  Being bombed?  I think death needs to be more humane in a lot of places.  Africa is not a good place for death.  The way you can die in Africa is wild, cruel, vicious.  She is not a continent for tip-toing around the taking of a life.  Perhaps the world needs to look at death differently.  A lot of people are living a lot longer than they did before, so when you die in the first world of a stress disease (there are many) or old age or of natural causes then there is really no reason to complain.  Your death is part of your life.  It is a continuation.  You are in charge of the amount of stress you let into your life, so if you contract a stress disease you need to accept that your path brings you what it brings you.  You should not cry when death comes in a good way, you can consider yourself, your family, blessed.  I have said it before – we can all aspire to dying in our sleep.  It is something to think about if you want to start visualising your future.  When you concentrate your energies on what you want to happen in your life you will find that often, it does.

We are Nature.  We have a human nature.  Our natures are not the same.  I do believe we are born with either a good nature or an evil nature.  Fortunately there are a lot more people with good natures than there are evil.  Nature is inherently good, though she has a temper.  We have her traits.  We are human in that we can speak.  More than anything else, this makes us human.  The words we use carry energy.  It is important to think before you speak when such is possible.  Words out, are words down.  You must realise how powerful what you say out loud is.  Your ears are tuned naturally to hear your voice, your tone.  When you fight or when you insult somebody, understand that the negative sentiment is ricocheting straight back at you.  You bitch at someone, you are being that bitch to yourself.  It is interesting to hear from yourself what you will say of others, to others.  Be careful what you choose to show the world with your speech, your vocal expression tells the truth about the state of your interior.  If you are being a shitty person because your insides are a mess – stop it.  The world does not need people like you any longer.

Letting go – Blog No. 32

let-goSo you let go.  That means what, exactly?  You tell yourself in your head that you have made a conscious choice to detach yourself from a thought, an idea, a dream.  (A point in hand – do not detach yourself from too many of your dreams.  They make your present liveable).  Then you stand objective and feel how it feels to be ‘without’ whatever it was.  A person, a situation, a memory.  In analysing that feeling – the emptiness – are you honest enough to admit to yourself that lurking on the sidelines of your thinking is the forgotten whatever it was?  It is always watching you try to forget it.  You are busy trying to forget how it feels to be with that thing.  How it is to carry its weight.  It’s just not possible.  The minute you turn your back you will find that your subconscious is busy soliciting the forbidden thinking.  It’s rebellious like that.  So how to really let go?  You have to make an arrangement with your heart to let go.  Heart holds on tight.  In fact, it is a bit like a child.  It holds tight to what keeps it happy.  Your mind can understand that you must separate yourself from something that is causing complications in your life.  Your heart can’t.  Heart accepts all and this makes for complications.  Complications are put where they are to keep us from getting too easy with being.  Life demands respect and should you fail to show due respect for its display it will send you reminders that you are merely human.  Each time a complexity unveils itself in your space – like an unexpected emotional outburst, or a twist in your life path that you were not expecting – it is a small test of your capacity.  If you freak out each time life hands you something you thought you did not require, think again.  You never get what you don’t need.  You have made sure of that.  Learn to accept what it is that has been put on your plate and work with it rather than against it – that is better for your development.  If you keep fighting the learning you are sent you will have to keep being taught.  That can be guaranteed.

We have all heard this:  If you love something, set it free.  If it comes back to you it is yours.  If it doesn’t, it never was.  How about this – you are making a mistake if you set what you love, free.  You have to think of both sides.  Who are you to free what it is that you love in the first place?  It was never yours to set free, or hold on to.  Love is a force.  It is true unto itself.  Love chooses what it wants because of what you need.  It is considerate that way.  Love is alive.  It is not something superficial, something to be trifled with, something you can cling to.  You cannot cling to love.  You cannot bend it to your will.  It dictates its flow, you just have to hold on tight and know that wherever it is going will be interesting.  It is surprisingly powerful, love.  It can make you do things you thought were impossible.  It can make you push yourself harder than anything else can push you.  It can make you feel things that you cannot explain and perhaps do not want to explain.  Love defies labelling.  It is nothing but itself.  It tickles.  It hurts.  It keeps you from feeling alone – that is why it is in you in the first place.  We are born alone?  We are only born alone in the sense that until we take our first independent breath we are empty of spirit.  We die alone?  I do not think we die alone.  I think we die safe in the arms of our deepest beliefs once consciousness is shut off.  That means death is nothing to fear.  It is just a part of life.  Where your head goes – now that is where you want to be concentrating your energies.  That is where you will end up for your eternity.

Life/Death – Blog No. 27

Mother_Nature_by_pincel3dConsider that when your energy moves from this incarnation into another one, your journey continues.  Your starting point is where you left off.  You do not escape your fate.  Each time we leave we take with us our learning and when we return to adopt a new embodiment we face upon our paths further trials that will teach us to respect the mistakes we have made during the cycle of our lifetimes.  Understand that should you be bound back to earth, or choose to return time and again, each time you come back to take human form you commit to a life of learning.  This is no small undertaking.  The only way to extract yourself from this natural cycle is to kill yourself, and the flow of life does not look favourably on those who patently refuse to learn.  Life is not precious about who it teaches, what.  It has plenty to show us, so much to share with us.  You need to connect with your life, open to it, in order to receive its gifts.  If you are closed, you receive nothing.  You receive nothing because you are giving nothing.  Life is an energy, a living force, a history in motion.  We are the sum of our histories, the picture of our pasts.  You are not a snapshot, happening.  You are in continuum.  It is important to remember that life happens for us, not to us.  We should appreciate its show.  Also, know that life is not personal and therefore it should not be taken personally.  Death is not personal, either.  It just is.  When your due day is approaching, you may know about it, you may not.  You should not know exactly your last moment.  That is not for you to know.  Think – if you know about it you are taking big risks.  You are throwing down a gauntlet.  When you take your own life you are stealing breath from Nature’s lungs.  Nature does not like thieves.  She does not understand how a human being cannot honour living by showing trust – no matter how drastic a depression or challenging one’s circumstance.  Hers is the life-force and it does not know how to stop striving to keep us all alive.  Should you cut short her transfusion to you, you will suffer the outcome of that severence.  That outcome is a lonely place to be.  Nature moves on with her business.  She does not loiter in the shadows, begging for alms, pleading her case or yours.  She takes stock and she moves on towards equilibrium.  We should realise that we are all on her path to equilibrium.  Each of us.  We should sit back and happen, watch ourselves act, trust in her guidance, because it is what will get us to the other side.  The other side is where we exist, at perfection.  Each of us.  That place perfection is real.  There are those who have achieved perfection with their lives.  Not many, but there are those.   Utopia does exist.  Living and dying are equally likely to find you a place there.  It just depends how you live, and how you die.  You must be sure when you die that you have all your ducks in a row.  You cannot die with business unfinished.  When you take your life you are taking yourself out of the equation and leaving unfinished business.  Nature does not like unfinished business.  She will insist that you return to pick up your own mess.  No one is in charge of your life, but you.  Nature was in charge of your birth.  She  is in charge of your death. Trust that she knows best your moment to go.  Take that privilege from her and you will find yourself lost on the other side without a ready guide.  That is Nature’s way.   Should you wish to take her on, you will see that she will simply transform you.  She transforms herself, all the time.  To transform us is her job.  She doesn’t take lightly to having her job dictated by humans.  She will collect you when she is ready, not before.

Love understands – Blog No. 17

neon-love-sign-3Where do you go when you have no answers for your questions?  You go inside.  Deeper inside.  When you think you have no further resources, open to yourself.  That sounds easier than it is, perhaps, but it is only at the point where you feel yourself facing a brick wall that you will come to realise that you have a way to go yet.  With every fibre in your being you will realise that your challenge is only beginning.  That is no reason to get dispirited.  Emotional brick walls are daunting to meet and tricky to bypass.  Over the obstacle is always possible, but the problem is you leave it behind, unattended.  Under the obstacle – not advisable.  You should not like to find yourself crushed by the weight of it.  Around the obstacle is an option, but that takes too long.  And besides, going around it you give yourself a lot of work as well as an extra choice – left or right – which is a bit like meeting the Sphinx at the crossroads and wanting to go straight.  I should add that going straight is the best way.  It is the hardest, but it yields the best results.  Plough through the questions posed by your inner Sphinx and go through the wall.  Some walls you will pass through easily.  Some you will not.  Some you will bang your head against, time and again.  They say that it is insanity to do the same thing over and over, expecting different results.  It is only insanity if you do not ultimately achieve your end goal.  That might take you seventeen attempts, it might take you two, but you can rest assured that if you work from your heart and you keep trying, you will succeed at what it is you need to succeed at.  That we will find what we are seeking is an indisputable law of Nature.  Do not be tempted to give up – on yourself – when you find yourself hitting your head against a wall.  You have to brace your mind, put your head down, and try again.  The wall will eventually give way to your persuasion.  It always does.  You have to be sure you are approaching it right, that’s all.

Understand that there is a love to which we all owe our allegiance.  The love within.  It’s source is bigger than every single one of us on this planet, and it is enormous when all of us are put together.  Love begets love.  It seems such a tired concept, such an over-used ideal.  But it’s there.  That love is constant.  It is what keeps us alive.  Do not take your love for granted.  Recognise it.  And if you cannot see it – then search harder.  Everyone has access to love.  Everyone.  And everything, has beauty.  Choose to see it.

Blog No. 4

mirror-reflection-in-sphere2NOTE TO SELF:  1987 (minor 2013 edit – important:  1987 ‘man’ = mankind, as such)

The construction of man was undoubtedly a miracle, although one might wonder whether or not it was (initially) an act of boredom.  Had civilisation progressed as God had intended it to, there would be no cause for concern, but modern man has travelled so far along forbidden paths in his quest to discover the meaning of Life that his creation and the purpose behind it has been ignored (for years).  One wonders whether it hasn’t been conveniently deleted from his memory completely.

Man has evolved into something totally contrary to what was expected.  Man in modern society assumes that he is invincible – a story-book hero with limitless powers.  He sees himself as the epitome of perfection and will not admit the potential presence of any weaknesses.  Stated more accurately by a certain A. Grit, “Nature didn’t make us perfect, so she did the next best thing – she made us blind to our faults.”  Man’s denial of imperfection is (nearly) imperceptible, although he is surely aware that somewhere deep within his (superior) being there is something that needs correction, something that he cannot do without.  Perhaps it would be destructive to admit it – even if it was just to himself – it might taint his opinion (of himself) or crack the fragile shell of his ego.

For man to understand himself accurately, it would be necessary for him to see himself as he appears in reality.  Without much effort, he could merely stand before a mirror and study his reflection and draw his conclusions from his observations.  However, it is easy to escape unharmed by staring at your reflection in a normal mirror because the reflection is superficial and does not extend further than skin deep.  What he (actually) needs is a large two-way mirror that reveals his surface features from one side and when he moves behind the mirror to the other side he can see his inner turmoil and associated imperfections.  Only then, under constant scrutiny, would he begin to discover for himself that although he is a human being of miraculous proportions, he has also been made with his share of (inherited) insecurities and problems.
The most difficult thing for him to understand however, is that by viewing himself subjectively as well as objectively, he is in no way conceding to or admitting defeat, (but that) he is actually on the way to self-discovery.

A mirror in itself is a means by which man can unravel the mysteries within himself.  By turning to face a mirror he can unjumble the confusion inside of him and make sense of his situation in order to proceed (effectively equipped) in a ‘weird’ world of reality.  There is no doubt that man’s true reflection will not hold any substantial pleasure initially, but perhaps for him to come to terms with himself it is an effective measure.  It would surprise him to discover that instead of being the all-knowing figment of his imagination, he has become the ignoramus who stares back into his eyes so helplessly.  Man has become disillusioned and must learn to deal with his disppointment in order for him to begin again.  Maybe by participating in a venture of this nature, society will change and follow a more positive path towards the future.  Maybe, just maybe, by doing this man will revolutionise his outlook and turn out to be what was expected of him the moment the dust with which he was created, had settled.

alice-character-new-era-59fifty-fitted_1I think Alice is still wandering around Wonderland. I don’t think she ever resurfaced. When faced with the choice of returning to this world as it is, she said, ‘No thanks very much, I think I’ll pass.’ She’s busy in an Underworld we see only in our dreams.

I wonder why there is no global body that can say ‘no’ to unacceptable happenings. Why is there not a resounding universal ‘no’ when it comes to rhino poaching, for instance? Why don’t governments stand for what is right these days? I think people need to remove political correctness from their agendas. This world needs a shake up. Syria needs peace. Gaza – is Gaza. People need to stop squabbling over land and let go of fighting for the honour of their past ‘heroes’. Who says anything ‘belongs’ to anyone in the first place? Like the way man will rape Nature’s resources and disrespect her convention. Or make rules for outer space. Space etiquette is more important than behaving like a reasonable human being on terra firma. I wonder some days just who we think we are on this planet.

I trust people with experience. I love learning, and being taught. I think we are all learning, all the time. It is a constant. As is change. To resist change is not brave. Change is what keeps the flow in this world, going. The richest languages are those evolving all the time, those in a state of flux. The same applies to people.
